Misdemeanor Intensive Supervised Probation Program

Offenders who have been convicted of a misdemeanor and are in need of supervision that a Municipal Court cannot provide are supervised by the Lorain County Adult Probation Department’s Standard Probation Unit. Emphasis is placed on offenders who have a substance abuse problem, prior criminal record, and pose a significant risk to re-offend. These offenders would normally be sentenced to serve a sentence at the Lorain County Jail. This is a State funded grant program that has been operational since 1996.
